Whether as a single center drive up to a maximum torque of 6.5 million Nm or in combination with other transmissions as a peripheral drive: Rollstar products have proven themselves worldwide for decades and ensure that there is always only one direction in a tunnel – forward.
Drives for tunnel boring machines
Rollstar transmissions offer a torque range from 1500 Nm to 6.5 million Nm. The planetary gearboxes can be combined with hydraulic motors from Rollstar or any engine manufacturer such as Rexroth, Hägglunds, Jahns, Kawasaki and many more.
Planetary gear with water cooling
The Rollstar planetary gearboxes are suitable for mounting on electric motors up to an output of 350 kW – on request also for higher motor outputs. All planetary gearboxes are equipped with water cooling and are specially designed for the high weights and high mass moments of inertia of these large motors.
Thanks to a large number of reduction variants and designs, a solution can be found for every tunnel boring machine, whether as a standard flange version or as an insert version. For outputs up to 350 kW, there are also shiftable transmission versions that allow our customers to drive a wider range of torques and speeds.
